Here are the list of different types of Nursing Courses available in India

ANM - Auxiliary Nursing And Midwifery

The duration of ANM WE provide education for Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery course is 24 months. After the receipt of the permission to start ANM training program from Indian Nursing Council, the institution shall obtain the approval from the State Nursing Council and Examination Board. Eligibility to join ANM - Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery course minimum 10th pass and some states have changed basic eligibility as 12th pass.  

GNM - General Nursing And Midwifery Course

The Diploma course in General Nursing & Midwifery is of three years and six months. Candidates, who are interested in General nursing course, should at least clear 10+2 board examinations and preferably with physics, chemistry and biology, Arts & commerce also considered as optional subjects and a sound knowledge of English.. The applicant must be 17 years of age to apply for this course. The course application forms issue at the end of March and the fees vary from state to state it depend the Nursing schools and Nursing colleges. Medium of instruction for this course is English. The syllabus of nursing course will be conducted as prescribed by Indian Nursing Council. 

B. Sc Nursing Course

Bachelor's in Science Nursing is a degree of 4 years. Candidates, who are interested in General nursing course, should at least clear 10+2 board examinations and preferably with physics, chemistry and biology, Arts & commerce also considered as optional subjects with minimum 50 % marks and a sound knowledge of English.. The applicant must be 17 years of age to apply for this course. The course application forms starts to issue at the end of March and the fees vary from state to state and it depend the Nursing schools and Nursing colleges. Medium of instruction for this course is English. 

Post BSc Nursing Course

The course of study shall be called Post Certificate B.Sc Nursing (PC B.Sc) / Post Basic B.Sc in Nursing /B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic) or Post BSc Nursing. The Post BSc Nursing course duration is two years for Regular class and 3 years for the correspondence course from the date of commencement of term notified by the university. Candidates, who are interested in Post BSc Nursing course, should be a GNM ( General Nurse ) with two years experience .The applicant, who is below 48 years of age at the time of admission shall be eligible for Post BSc course. The course fees vary from state to state and depends the Nursing schools and Nursing colleges. Medium of instruction for this course is English. 

Child Health Nursing

M. Sc Nursing Specialty branch Child Health Nursing program is developed for midwives, nurses and other healthcare practitioners with an interest in maternal and child health. Students will be encouraged to use their practice expertise to enhance skills in clinical judgement and decision-making in contemporary practice, dealing with prospective trends in practice and new client groups with specific needs from a national and international perspective. Child Health Nursing allows students to reflect on their practice and identify the strategies required to provide women and children with care of the highest quality.

Community Health Nursing

M. Sc Nursing Specialty branch Community Health Nursing course is designed to prepare Specialist Community Public Health Nurses to work in complex and varied settings and have the knowledge, interpersonal skills and managerial capabilities to allow them to practice effectively in today's health service. Community Health Nursing aim to reduce health inequalities by working with individuals, families and communities, promoting health and preventing ill health. The emphasis is on partnership working that cuts across disciplinary, professional and organizational boundaries.

Medical Surgical Nursing

MSc Nursing Specialty branch Medical surgical nursing is considered as a very noble profession. The specialty of this profession is that the nurse can get into the center of action and shoulder the major responsibility of curing the patient. Medical Surgical nurses cater to patients who are elderly or are suffering from critical ailment. Medical surgical nurse have to be well acquainted with vast knowledge in this field in order to handle critical cases and render mental support to the elderly patients. MSc Nursing Regular And Correspondence Admission In India

MSc Nursing Master's in Science nursing two years (MSc Nursing). MSc Nursing Mainly has five specialty branches such as Medical Surgical Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Child Health Nursing, OBG Nursing (Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing). Candidates, who are interested in MSc Nursing course, should minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Hons. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks and at least one year of work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing.

OBG Nursing - Obstetric and Gynecological Nursing
